Become an OLLI Member

OLLI annual memberships for 2021-2022 begin on July 1, 2021 and run through June 30, 2022.

The acclaimed historian and 12th Librarian of Congress Daniel Boorstin once said, “Education is learning what you didn't even know you didn't know.” OLLI is dedicated to fostering learning and engagement in all areas, including those of which our students may not have even thought before joining OLLI. This process of curiosity and discovery is at the heart of OLLI’s mission, which is to encourage learning as a lifelong pursuit and as its own reward.

OLLI has offered courses, study groups, lunchtime lectures, travel opportunities, and other activities to Central Illinois residents over the age of 50 since 2007. If you have participated in OLLI’s activities in the past, then you already know what a rich and exhilarating experience it is. If you have not yet discovered the many benefits of OLLI membership, we hope that you will join us on this exciting journey!

For information regarding fees and benefits, see About OLLI.

About Your OLLI Membership

OLLI membership allows you to register for fall and spring courses; for the multiple study group sessions during the year; for all lectures, films, and special events; and for optional OLLI-planned activities that come with additional costs. (Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel plans and large-group activities will resume when it is safe and feasible to do so.) Lectures and many other events are free with membership. Courses and study groups have modest fees, and members pay that fee for each course or study group for which they register. Even when online programs are offered, the expectation is that all members will be residents of Central Illinois who will participate in in-person activities when they are offered, to the extent that they are able to do so.

Membership also includes numerous other benefits, including an iCard, discounts at local and national merchants, access to the University of Illinois Library, and many other opportunities; a full list can be found here. Please be aware that some OLLI activities and secondary membership benefits are temporarily unavailable due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the many benefits outlined above, OLLI membership contributes to the proven wellness and social benefits of lifelong learning!

Membership in OLLI does not confer any further University of Illinois student, staff, or faculty status, or any other benefits pertaining to those roles. Member benefits may not be redeemed for any cash value. OLLI membership is intended solely for residents of Central Illinois over the age of 50 who will participate in OLLI's programming at the institute's Champaign location.

Course registration for the fall semester 2021 begins on Wednesday, July 14th, 2021. Please see this page for full registration details.
